Delicious by Ms. Read
Original post here.
I first read about Delicious in VIDA! and was directed towards it one day by Jikon while we were at Bangsar Village. It's quiet and cool atmosphere immediately scored brownie points with me. On that rainy afternoon over hot chocolate with marshmallow and lamingtons, I almost fell asleep on one of its many couches complete with pillows.
This New Year day, after a short stint at the office (yes, the horror to work on a rest day that is part of my life), I made a bee-line to Delicious again for lunch. The selections are not many but so far, all that I have sampled taste good.
Delicious offers daily specials which include All Day Breakfast and set of antipasti. Five to six types of salads, soups, sandwiches, pastas, local cuisine (e.g. Nasi Ayam Percik, Nyonya Curry Laksa) and pies (e.g. Chicken and Leak, Special Beef) are available on their main menu. I love their Spicy Seafood pasta, a delightful dry version of vermicelli tossed with dried chilli flakes, herbs and olive oil, topped with fresh calamari and prawns.
The Meatball and Tomato Sauce pasta arrived with generous portions of thick sauce, cheese flakes and meatballs. I appreciate the fact that the pasta is cooked just right and coated with olive oil and dried herbs before the sauce is poured over. Too many experiences of attempting to twist overcooked slippery pastas swimming in watery sauces with a fork have left me weary of ordering pasta dishes for awhile now. The Wild Mushroom soup was rich, well-flavored and packed with assorted mushroom pieces.
The coffees are surprisingly satisfying and are offered in large portions, as are their dishes and desserts. Warm or chilled plain water is also given without being requested, and refilled frequently. Service is prompt (unless the place is packed) and friendly, a definite winner with everyone.
This is an excellent place to spend time with friends and family while enjoying reasonably priced food.
